Shangri-La’s – Eros Hotel, New Delhi celebrated the launch of Mister Chai, a first-of-its-kind tea restaurant, situated in the heart of the city.
Shangri-La’s – Eros Hotel, New Delhi celebrated the launch of Mister Chai, the new tea restaurant. The event was hosted by General Manager Parmeet Singh Nayar and Travel+ Leisure was the exclusive media partner for the event which introduced the unique concept of a tea restaurant to the patrons of New Delhi focusing on regional Indian street food and celebrating the Indian tea culture.
At the event, an exclusive interaction between Chef Neeraj Tyagi, Executive Chef of the hotel and Ruchira Bose, Editor – Travel + Leisure, India and South Asia unfolded, giving insight into the inspiration behind the concept of the restaurant along with the conceptualization of the menu. A delectable selection of fusion street food in India such as MTDC, Butter Chicken Samosa, Colaba Fish Fry sandwich, Vada Pao to name a few were paired with an assortment of signature beverages consisting of Cutting Chai, Orange Ginger Punch, Masala Cola and more were served throughout the event. Personalized tea leaf readings were conducted by Delhi’s renowned tea leaf reader Neera Sareen, adding an engaging and exciting element to the evening.
On the occasion, General Manager Parmeet Singh Nayar said, “Unlike a conventional tea lounge, Mister Chai is a dining destination in its own right. Popular Indian street food has been re-invented and presented in an exceptional style. The menu is a kaleidoscope of regional dishes with a modern twist. Well – known faces like Sonalee Kumar, Arjun Sawhney, Anupama Dayal, Ruchira Bose (Editor of Travel + Leisure), Siboney Sagar, Anita Bajaj, Karishma Manga Bedi, Sushma Puri, Naveena Guleria, Anjali Vishwanathan, Mandira Nath amongst others were seen indulging in tea leaf readings and savouring authentic Indian street food experiencing the local teashop feel at Shangri-La’s – Eros Hotel, New Delhi.
