Sabre appoints Sandeep Shastri to lead Travel Network Business in South Asia

Sabre Corporation announced the appointment of Sandeep Shastri as the new regional director, South Asia, within the Travel Network team in Asia Pacific (APAC).

In this role, Shastri will lead Sabre’s Travel Network business in South Asia with responsibility for its sales performance, customer engagement and overall growth across the region. A key player in the region’s travel industry, Shastri brings more than 15 years of career experience in the travel and financial services sectors. Developing his expertise among respected organizations such as American Express, Standard Chartered, and Egencia, an Expedia company, where he held the position of Managing Director, and was responsible for the rapid development and implementation of strategies that transformed the organization on an operational scale.

More recently, Shastri worked with Qantas Airways, based out of their headquarters in Mascot, Sydney, as Senior National Agency Manager – Key Partnerships, from 2016 to 2018. Leading the Online Travel Agency strategy for the Qantas Group, he helped the airline establish direct commercial partnerships with Online Agencies and improved the customer experience for the rapidly growing segment of travellers using this distribution channel.

Shastri is a trained Engineer, with an Executive MBA from INSEAD and Tsinghua University. He also earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.

Sabre Travel Network is known for its industry-leading distribution solutions, including the new Sabre Red Workspace, and serves more than 20,000 agency locations across the Asia Pacific region.
