Sarovar Hotels continues expansion in Kenya, Africa; makes overseas debut of its value brand Hometel with a hotel signing in Nairobi.

In yet another strategic move, Sarovar Hotels announces the overseas debut of its value brand Hometel with the signing of a hotel in Nairobi. The hotel, Tetezi Hometel Nairobi, will mark Sarovar Hotel’s fourth offering in Kenya’s capital after The Heron Portico, The Zehneria Portico and The Lazizi Premiere. With this, Sarovar will exceed a total of 400 keys in Nairobi and 800 keys in Africa.

The 80 keys Tetezi Hometel is located along Riverside Drive, Nairobi and is owned by Tetezi House Ltd. of which the owner and promoter Mr. John Mburu is a renowned and established lawyer.  The hotel, upon completion, will offer all modern facilities required for a first class hotel of international standards. Construction of the project has commenced and the hotel is expected to open in 2019.                         

Commenting on the announcement, Ajay K. Bakaya, Managing Director, Sarovar Hotels Pvt. Ltd, says, “Hometel, our mid-segment brand, delivers profitable hotels to owners. There is a growing demand for good value for money hotels across the country and abroad. This is the largest demand segment. We aim cater to these markets with our hotels by offering best value to business and leisure travellers”.

Tetezi Hometel Nairobi will be Sarovar Hotels’ eighth property in Africa.  Other properties by the group in the continent includes The New Africa Hotel, Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania; Panorama Sarovar Portico, Juba, South Sudan; Sarovar Premiere, Lusaka, Zambia; and Sarovar Premiere, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
